What People Are Saying
So what are people saying about craft winemaking? Don't just take our
word for it! We held an exciting contest for a chance to win a trip
to Wine Country (The Okanagan!) To enter, we asked people to state why
they loved craft winemaking. While the number of entries was
nearly overwhelming, we couldn't help but notice you using some of the
same key words, and phrases.

It's clear to us that this craft means more to you than just a way to
save money (which shouldn't be understated!).
You told us it's also about friendship, communion,
choice, spirit,
accomplishment, culture,
and emotion.
"I can live my dream of being a wine maker and having a wine
cellar, serving wine that tastes like
a million bucks, at a fraction of the cost!" –Valerie
"I love wine...love my family and enjoy trying new wines!
We have many things to celebrate in
our lives and enjoying a wine with the celebration makes it even
more special!" –Christine
"I want to continue the tradition my father began when he came to Canada from Italy in 1951, and I'm now passing onto my son. To appreciate, and savour the taste of home made wine." –Piero
"'I know exactly what is going into it. The freshness, flavor,
and the rich land of minerals from which
it was grown. Nothing better than doing it yourself." –Renee
"Wine is the blood of the soul. To make your own wine is to be in touch with your soul. Wine making is one of the oldest "crafts" in the world endowed with meaning, magic, history, ritual, spirituality and religion. To be involved in craft wine making is to be part of the history of wine and all that it embodies. To drink wine is to enjoy history. To make your own wine is to be part of history." –Michael
